COACH BUSSANíS COMMENTS:†† Morgan had a good race in her first appearance at the state meet.We felt that she ran a particularly fine closing mile as she passed a large number of athletes on the way to the finish.By finishing near the midpoint of the race she gained valuable experience which should help her over the next two years.

Alex was not able to put together the race that he had hoped to have to close out his career. It was not for a lack of effort, in fact it may have been a case that he simply cared too much.We noticed that he was far more stressed prior to the race than normal and while he got out strongly and was right around 20th place at the mile mark, shortly thereafter he began drifting back.I believe it became very difficult for him to focus as he lost sight of his pre-race goal of being in the top ten.Alex has come a long way over his four year career and achieved a great deal.He was an extremely consistent leader throughout his senior season and what he has done for his teammates and the program will always be appreciated.

Alex Lamp and Austin Elm will be participating in the Iowa Association of Track Coaches Senior All Start Meet which will be held on the Ankeny campus of the Des Moines Area Community College next Saturday. There will be an open division race at noon in which anyone of any age may participate. That will be followed by the girlís senior race at 1:00 and the boys senior race will start at 1:30.Alex and Austin will be representing the Northwest Iowa team and will be joining an outstanding outgoing class of seniors for one last competition together.
