COACH BUSSANíS COMMENTS:Our girls continue to close ranks and as a result we are becoming an effective scoring team.We backed up a strong performance at Ballard with another very good team race.We finished 18 points behind #5 in 3A Harlan and #14 in 4A Urbandale. We were able to defeat Atlantic who is currently ranked 8th in 3A.It was once again our ability to run a tight pack which overcame Atlanticís #1 runner winning the meet.We were led again by senior Breanne Wagner.Freshman Brenna Paukert continues to come on strong as our #2.Veterans Mikeale Pruismann, Alicia Long and Sarah Perin did a fine job of staying close to our top 2.Freshman Morgan Moline and senior Erin Hunt also ran well.

Our J.V. also continues to show improvement. In particular, Kelsey Griffith had her best race to date in finishing 14th in a fine time of 19:08.Our J.V. is also demonstrating the ability to pack run and together we are pushing each other to better performances. We will now have a week off to train before our next meet at Algona on Monday September 28th.

COACH BUSSANíS COMMENTS:We had some good individual performances.Alex Lamp continues an outstanding junior year.He placed 5th against a very good field and improved his performance by over a minute as compared to a year ago.Matt Severe also medaled with another strong race.Freshman Jacob Clabaugh ran well and senior newcomer Anthony Peck did a fine job as our #6 runner in breaking the tie with Denison in our favor. We are struggling to pull our pack together and dealing with upper respiratory illnesses.Hopefully we can use our week off to get healthy and bring back some of the runners who have been out of action.

Our J.V. performance was highlighted by two freshmen stepping forward. Both Cory Woodhouse and Riley Rainey had their best races to date.In particular, Cory ran a fine race and earned a J.V. medal with his effort.
