COACH BUSSANíS COMMENTS:The boys had another great race against the best field they will face all year. While our primary focus is on preparing for the conference meet next Tuesday, this performance shows that we come to compete every day.We beat Boone for the first time this year.We had a large number of athletes have their best race to this point.Ben Lambert set another new personal record to medal in 14th place against some of the most outstanding runners in the state.Alex Lamp continues his late season surge with a new outstanding personal record of 17:17.Mason Powers had the 3rd fastest freshman time of the meet as he set a new PR.Matt Severe was solid.Colin Ryan had a breakthrough race to finish as our #5 in a new personal record of 18:45.We only ran 6 varsity athletes so that we could have a head to head competition for our #7 position.Austin Elm set a new personal record to snare that position. He was strongly challenged by Francois Tariel and Derek Turner. Many of our J.V. boys had their best races ever.It will now be critical for us to rest and mentally prepare to host the North Central Conference Championships next Tuesday, October 14th.The conference features a large number of ranked teams and several top individuals.I believe we will be ready to put on a good show for the home folks. The meet begins at 4 p.m. with the middle school girls followed by the middle school boys, the 2 J.V. races followed by the varsity girls and varsity boys. There will be a $5 parking fee at the course.

COACH BUSSANíS COMMENTS:It was good to have the entire squad back in action after a number of meets of running a variety of line-ups due to illnesses and injuries. The performance represents an improvement over recent meets for the team. With the conference meet coming up, it was very encouraging.Mikaela Pruismann had one of her better races of the year. The rest of the squad battled with each other along with Boone and Ft. Dodge. We used this meet as a final look before setting a line-up for conference. The team did a nice job of handling the stress and they were very supportive of each other.Sarah Perin had a strong race.In the J.V. race, varsity regular Breanne Wagner stepped forward with one of her better efforts of the year and had the 4th best performance of the meet for our team.Bailey, Jewel and Kelsey all had good J.V. races.I believe we will see the girlís best race of the year on the home course as we host the conference meet next Tuesday.
