COACH BUSSANíS COMMENTS:It was a very strong performance against one of the best fields we have faced.Algona and Spirit Lake fought it out.Spirit Lake is currently ranked #1 in 2A and Algona is one of the top teams in 3A.Our top 4 runners had exceptional efforts and all set new PRís.Ben Lambert took on the best in the state and raced Algonaís Chad Rutledge to the finish line which was another break through race for him.Our next 3 formed a very tight pack over the course of the race and allowed us to score very well.In particular, Alex Lamp had a huge improvement to run as our #2.Colin Ryan did a nice job of stepping forward as our #5 when called on.Austin Elm also showed improvement.Mason Hedeen battled but had a difficult race.It is a real sign of strength on our team that all 7 runners are capable of contributing. This was an important performance as we beat Spencer and Charles City to establish ourselves going into this weeks seeding process for districts. For the J.V., Cody Crouch ran an excellent final mile to move into the top 10.Francois and Derek both had excellent races as well.We will now prepare for the South Hardin Invitational at Pine Lake Golf Course on Saturday. The meet begins at 9:30.Our family picnic will follow the meet.

COACH BUSSANíS COMMENTS:Alicia Long had probably the best race of her career in leading the team.Weíll have to continue to try our best and see how far forward we can move as a team. For the girls J.V., Kelsey Griffith had her best race.Bailey Anderson also had a strong finish and a number of our J.V. athletes had strong performances and showed improvement.
