The Webster City Middle School cross country team participated in the NCC Meet hosted by St. Edmonds on the high school state cross country course.  This was an excellent opportunity for middle school runners to experience the high school state course.  The boys and girls races were very competitive with 49 boys and 84 girls racing.  In the boys’ race, Mason Powers led the Lynx taking fifth place overall in a time of 12:49.  Mason has had an excellent cross country season being a consistent leader for the team.  Phillip Ebrecht had his best race of the season placing 12th overall in a time of 13:55.  Chase Huber and Cory Woodhouse ran most of the race together placing 27th and 30th place respectively.  Logan McCaskey, Jackson Tague, and Zach Robinson also packed it up during the race and placed 38th, 39th, and 40th.

The girls’ race also had some good Lynx performances.  Sarah Johnson once again led the Lynx girls’ team placing 12th overall with a time of 15:53.  Teammates Brenna Paukert and Erica Just weren’t far behind finishing 22nd and 28th.   Also having good races were Maddy Miller, Ashley Meyers, and Nicole Heinrichs finishing in 39th, 40th, and 45th place.  Rachel Kauffman and Stephanie Ryder also had one of their best races of the season placing 53rd and 54th place.  Rounding out the Lynx were Kolby Stanley, Kaylee Wagner, and Chambre Wisdom placing 59th, 61st, and 62nd.  I’m excited with what the team accomplished this year.  I would like to thank the athletes for all of their hard work and parents for all of their support.
