COACH BUSSAN’S COMMENTS:  Jesse ran an exceptional individual race.  He led the first ˝ mile and battled throughout the race against some of the best runners in any class in the state.  Since Algona, Jesse has clearly decided to step up his level of performance and make a statement of what he is about.  Ben ran a solid race as well.  While we were able to beat some decent quality teams, overall I believe we are capable of a more unified performance and we will need to do a better job of packing together in order to take a run at Algona and Eagle Grove at conference on Tuesday.  On the J.V. side, Austin Elm had a fairly solid run and Adam Klein worked his way up through the field.

COACH BUSSAN’S COMMENTS:  This was an unacceptably poor performance and there are no excuses to be made.  We opened the race near the back and while our top 3 moved forward to some degree to turn in somewhat respectable efforts, overall our squad did not show up to compete.  The fact that we were soundly beaten by Boone and Ft. Dodge whom we have beaten, in some cases by large margins this year, is a clear indicator that we are capable of much better performances.  The girls must decide if they are satisfied with what they have accomplished to this point or if they intend to come together as a group an honor the commitment they made to each other at the beginning of the season.  They will have the opportunity to make a statement of what they’re about next Tuesday at the conference meet.
