COACH BUSSAN’S COMMENTS:  3rd place in the meet was an excellent finish.  I felt one of the highlights of the meet was breakthrough performances from Matt Severe and, in particular, Alex Lamp.  Alex cut nearly a minute off of his time from Ballard on a course that our top runners ran 15-20 seconds slower on.  Matt equaled his time from Ballard and together, their efforts made us a more effective scoring team.  Spencer (currently ranked 4th in 3A) won the meet but was only 12 points ahead of us. We finished well in front of Atlantic (currently ranked 12th in 3A).  Once again, Jesse, Ben and Ethan ran very well.  On the J.V. side, Adam Klein had his best race of the year to enable him to rejoin the varsity line-up. We will now have a week to train and prepare for our push toward the championship month of October.

COACH BUSSAN’S COMMENTS:  The girls had an excellent run.  Our top 3 remain very solid.  Jewel Nuehring stepped forward as a scoring runner for us and we had a very tight pack overall.  Caitlyn Finucan continues to do a great job consistently finishing as our #4 runner.  As a team, we knew that 4A #5 ranked Urbandale would dominate the meet.  Harlan remains a 3A powerhouse.  After that, we did a nice job against 3A 10th ranked Spencer.  On the J.V. side, Bailey Bergman had a nice run against a quality field.  We will now spend a week training as we prepare to go Northwest to Algona where we will see a large and well respected field a week from Monday.
