COACH BUSSAN’S COMMENTS:  We continued to run well as a team to finish ahead of Newton and Mason City and within reasonable distance of Waukee and Urbandale was a fine accomplishment.  Jesse had a great individual effort to finish in the top 10 against some of the finest 4A competition in the state was an excellent job.  He went out aggressively and was never out of the top 10.  Ben Lambert had another solid performance to finish 25th.  Ethan Barnes had his best race to date.  Ethan opened strongly and continued to push the pace throughout.  Brandon Hicok and Aaron Bieker continue to do great work as our remaining scorers.  Freshman Matt Severe had his best race of the year with a new personal record of 18:42.  Jon Richardson battled leg problems throughout to finish off our varsity effort.

COACH BUSSAN’S COMMENTS:  Zach Turner had by far his best race of the year.  He pushed to the front of our pack early and continued to drive throughout the race.  Devin Linn also had a strong effort.

COACH BUSSAN’S COMMENTS:  The improvement of our girls team is evidenced by our defeat of three 4A schools including Ft. Dodge and Boone who had finished in front of us at the Lynx Invitational to open the season.  Mikaela Pruismann returned to the line-up after missing the South Hardin Invitational due to sore legs and ran a fine race.  Emily Long also had an outstanding effort.  Sarah Perin had her best race of the year.  Breanne Wagner and Ashley Mallinger ran well to round out our scoring.  Erin Hunt finished as our #6 runner.  Due to a race time decision, we ran only 6 varsity athletes.

 

Our squads will now prepare for the North Central Conference Championships to be held at Iowa Falls Golf and Country Club on Tuesday starting with the middle school races at 4:00 p.m.  The girls race shapes up to be a battle between ourselves, Iowa Falls and Algona Garrigan while the boys race looks to be contested by ourselves, Eagle Grove, Humboldt and St. Edmond.

COACH BUSSAN’S COMMENTS:  Our J.V. girls had an excellent effort as demonstrated by their strong placing against a deep 4A field.  Amanda Hicok had the best race of her career to finish 39th.  Becky Perin and Bailey Anderson also had fine runs.
