COACH BUSSAN’S COMMENTS:  Our front pack continues to do a great job and Shannon Kane is showing improvement as she gets healthier.  Through our first four runners we equaled our performance from one year ago.   We will need to close our pack down if we hope to accomplish our goals at the conference meet.  On the J.V. side, Jessi Severson, Emily Sewick and Jennie Bunkofske all had solid races.

COACH BUSSAN’S COMMENTS:  Our boys team competed very well and continued to develop great depth.  We chose to sit out Nick Barnes at the last minute to allow him to recover from a sore knee.  The remainder of the boys varsity squad responded very well.  To have four runners under 18 minutes while sitting out a potential #2 or #3 runner shows the quality of our depth.  Aaron Bieker and Drew Hunt had outstanding races.  Aaron ran 19:46 at this meet a year ago and Drew ran 21:36.  To cut between 1:30 and 2:00 in one year is exceptional.  Every single varsity runner improved significantly over their performance of a year ago.  This sets us up well as we approach conference on Tuesday where we expect to run our entire varsity line-up together for the first time this season.  On the J.V. side, Cole Hippen continues to come on strongly.  His 19:51 is the first time we have had a J.V. runner below 20 minutes all year.  Our entire J.V. raced well.  The team will now prepare for the North Central Conference Championships to be held next Tuesday at Humboldt Golf and Country Club.  The meet begins at 4:00 p.m. with Middle School races.
